The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 as a pandemic. In response to this pandemic, nationwide people are self-isolating. There are some steps that the digital marketing world needs to take to prepare for this sudden transition of work-flow.

The frenzy related to the COVID-19 has affected search terms. Google has already taken the liberty of attempting to eliminate traffic capitalizing off of the Coronavirus. However, as a measure of insurance, adding terms such as “coronavirus” or “COVID-19” to negatives within accounts would be beneficial.

The Positives:

However, many businesses are experiencing booms in search traffic and overall revenue. Due to the nature of current shopping. Online searches and purchases are increasing exponentially. So, if your product or service relies on online tools and delivery, it is imperative that you keep track of the data. It is also important to tailor your metrics to this new trend, so that people can access your product or service in any location.

Don’t Freak Out:

As mentioned above, there should be some prep for the new transitions taking place. However, it is also important not to take hasty decisions based on current data. Analyze and evaluate the trends first. The current state of affairs will likely not be a lasting one for years to come, so evaluate with that in mind. Your digital marketing structure should not be altered too much. Aside from immediate changes refrain from hastily shifting everything.
